Daniel in the Lion's Den

Born in Newark, NJ in 1974 to Haitian parents, Daniel Jean embodies the experiences of a young African male living in the inner cities of America.  He earned a Bachelor's degree in Public Communications from Ramapo College of New Jersey and a Master's degree in Counseling from Montclair State University.  Words Travel is his first published release in a series of books, plays, and songs.  His work is pre-eminent and his subjects demand the attention of educators, parents, students and theatergoers.

He has presented educational workshops entitled "40 and a Blunt, is That What You Really Want" and "Hip-Hop, Alcohol, and You" at colleges, universities and community centers throughout the United States.  He has also performed at various poetry venues including New York's Nuyorican Café and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center Annual Poetry Festival.  A former radio show host and writer for the Bergen Record in New Jersey, he currently is a college administrator at                     Daniel Jean
Ramapo College.  This College professor,
educator, playwright, songwriter, poet, rapper, and lecturer is poised to be the next voice of the hip-hop generation.  He currently resides with his wife in Northern New Jersey.
