The lyrics in the poetry offer a fascinating look into the hip-hop culture, addressing a wide range of subjects including parenthood, drugs, media, love, propaganda and racism; all presented in an interesting and humorous context.
SHORT STORIES/ESSAYS:
The semi-autobiographical short stories/essays are grounded in the everyday reality of youth who embody the hip-hop lifestyle and allows the reader to gain a better understanding of the daily challenges these individuals face.
CHARACTER PLAY:
The play titled, “A Degree of Difficulty-Class of 1985” is centered squarely on the struggles of dysfunctional families living in the ghettos of America, and the dangerous cycle of poverty that many blacks encounter. The play takes an insightful look at one
young black teen, being raised without his father in the heart of Newark, New Jersey, as he
approaches adulthood during his final year in high school. This play is a must read for all who were raised without a father or those who need to gain a better understanding of fatherless children.
